Python Discord bot hosting (discord.py, Pycord, nextcord)

Your Python bot runs 24/7 on Python 3.12: upload your project, Invokara installs your requirements.txt and runs your main file.

What is supported

  • Python 3.12, with the libraries pip installs: discord.py, Pycord, nextcord…
  • ffmpeg and libopus already installed, for music and voice bots (discord.py[voice]).
  • A website next to your bot (Flask, FastAPI…): it gets a PORT variable and an HTTPS address.
  • Databases: SQLite in your files (kept), or PostgreSQL, MySQL and Redis created in 1 click.

Project structure

Tree
my-bot/
├── requirements.txt    ← your modules
├── main.py             ← entry file
├── .env                ← TOKEN=...
├── cogs/
└── data/               ← SQLite, JSON…
⚠️
No need to upload your venv or __pycache__: they are ignored, and modules are installed for the server.

requirements.txt: your modules

Modules are installed from requirements.txt at startup, every time it has changed. Without this file nothing is installed: the panel warns you.

requirements.txt
discord.py>=2.4
python-dotenv>=1.0
main.py
import os
import discord
from dotenv import load_dotenv

load_dotenv()
client = discord.Client(intents=discord.Intents.default())

@client.event
async def on_ready():
    print(f"Logged in as {client.user}")

client.run(os.environ["TOKEN"])

The entry file

Invokara runs the first one found among main.py, bot.py and app.py. The Files tab shows the chosen command, and you can pick another file there.

Token and variables

Your .env is loaded automatically: os.environ["TOKEN"] works, with or without python-dotenv. You can also save the token in the Variables tab, where it is encrypted and takes priority over the .env.

The most common errors

ModuleNotFoundErrorAdd the module to requirements.txt, then restart.
PrivilegedIntentsRequiredEnable the requested intents (Message Content, Server Members, Presence) in the Bot tab of the developer portal.
LoginFailure: Improper tokenRegenerate the token (Bot → Reset Token) and replace it in Variables.

The panel detects common errors and explains them in the console. See also the Troubleshooting page.

Frequently asked questions

Which Python version is available?

Python 3.12.

Do music bots work?

Yes: ffmpeg and libopus are installed. Music uses more RAM: keep some headroom (Standard or Pro plan).

Should I upload my virtual environment?

No: venv and __pycache__ are ignored, and the modules from requirements.txt are installed for the server.

Can my bot have a Flask or FastAPI dashboard?

Yes, except on the Discovery plan: enable the web panel in Settings and listen on the PORT variable, on 0.0.0.0. Your site opens over HTTPS on mybot.invokara.cloud or on your own domain.

Want to host it here?

Sign in with Discord, then upload your project as is.
